Using Wood Vinegar in Vegetable Production

PyroAg Wood Vinegar can be incorporated at different stages of vegetable production, from crop establishment through to soil, fertigation and foliar applications during crop development.

Current PyroAg guidance includes diluted foliar applications and application through suitable soil, irrigation and fertigation programs. The most appropriate method will depend on the crop, production system, water volume, growth stage and intended use.

Soil

Soil / Root-Zone Application

Applied to the soil or root zone to support soil biological activity and nutrient availability within intensive vegetable production systems.

Irrigation

Fertigation & Irrigation

Incorporated into suitable irrigation or fertigation programs to deliver diluted Wood Vinegar through the active root zone during crop development.

Foliar

Foliar Application

Applied through established spray programs during crop development, providing an opportunity to support plant growth, nutrient use and overall crop performance.

For general applications, PyroAg recommends lower rates applied more regularly rather than infrequent high-rate applications, with a maximum application frequency of approximately every two weeks.

Application requirements may vary according to crop, water volume, growing conditions and intended use. Always follow current PyroAg application guidance and test new applications on a small area where appropriate.

Application Method
Recommended Rate
Application Guidance
Soil / Drip Application
5 L/ha
1:200 dilution
General Foliar Application
2 L/ha
1:500 dilution, based on 1,000 L/ha water
