Summary
Greenhouse research tested wood vinegar and rice hull vinegar mixed with two commercial herbicides for control of barnyardgrass in paddy rice. The study found that early post-emergence treatment at the 2 to 3 leaf stage was more effective than later treatment, and that selected pyroligneous acid mixtures with reduced herbicide rates achieved control similar to full-rate herbicide treatments under the study conditions.
