Bio-Tech Organics appointed PyroAg Distributor for SA

Bio-Tech Organics is a consultancy and farm product supplier to farmers in Australia, specialising in the field of what is known as ‘Biological Farming’. This style of farming targets both certified organic farming and conventional farming systems, with the aim to improve the biological component of soils for sustainable land management, improved crop production and profitability of farming enterprises.

Bio-Tech Organics commenced its business in 1993 with the aim of giving farmers alternative options to strict chemical practices in crop production management. The use of chemicals for the control of pests and diseases, chemical fertilisers, nematicides, soil sterilants, salinity issues and general fertiliser use has not made the life of a farmer easier. In fact, in many cases we have seen a decline in sustainable soil and crop management due to the overuse of such inputs, particularly in the area of horticulture production.

Bio-Tech Organics recognised the benefits of introducing viable strains of beneficial microorganisms and other biological inputs into farming systems from the outset, with a realisation that this was the way of the future for farming in Australia. Soil balance and the right choices of inputs, both biological and chemical, has shown benefit to both the farm and the farmer.

One such input is known as PyroAg. Bio-Tech Organics has introduced this product into it’s farming systems two years ago, with astounding initial results. Many farmers who have used the product have commented very favourably in relation to crop response and general health of their crops, with improved quality of produce, less disease pressure, less insect pressure, healthier plants, increased yields, increased beneficial soil microbial populations, enhanced composted organic materials, improved efficacy of other chemical inputs and a reduction of chemical use, when combined with Pyro Ag.

Treōwstede Australian Native Foods and Apiary

Barry Watts and Karry Fisher-Watts have carried out some fantastic work on their property in WA, overcoming many challenges to rehabilitate very damaged soil into a vibrant native bush foods farm successfully growing some rare plants. Karry has used our PyroAg product for a number of years with some great results.

TREŌWSTEDE (or tree place) is Bushfood Farm which is based solely on ‘Sustainable Natural Farming Practices and follows the principles of Natural Biological Farming.

They use all natural products such as – soil probiotics with ‘endo’ and ‘ecto’ mycorrhiza and wood vinegar as our all-purpose natural fertiliser/pesticide. In addition they make a range of homemade (proprietary) onsite products ranging from – apple cider vinegar – fish amino acids – calcium carbonate/phosphate – oriental herbal nutrient – lactic acid bacteria and most importantly the use of molasses as a food source for both plants, bacteria and fungi. Landcare Restoration/Rehabilitation A large Part of Treōwstede has been set aside for the purpose of ‘Ecological restorations’ using local species of trees and shrubs to help manage the soil salinity and water logging/ponding. We are engaged in a number of projects to remediate the soil and establish micro and macro ecosystems. These areas are treated with soil probiotics and mycorrhiza fungi to help restore the natural balance to soil bio diversity.
